Eames Office model created by John Neuhart
mixed media51 w x 43 d x 8 h inches
This scale model, constructed on a one-quarter inch to one-foot scale, is a replica of the Eames Office at the time of Charles Eames death in August of 1978. Painstakingly constructed over nearly a decade John Neuhart, with the assistance of Marilyn Neuhart, aimed to recreate the office with precision. With a demountable roof and cross beams the model reveals the 10,000 square foot interior equipped with appropriately-scaled furniture, the equipment and tools of the Eames Design Office, as well as the graphic displays decorating the walls at that time

[0/10] Bernat Cuni: pOrnamental

Barcelona born, Hong Kong based designer Bernat Cuni created these abstract volumes based on pornography images found online. Published on www.designboom.com

— Dear designboom!
Pls do not spam us with 3D tests that relates from a beginners course for Cinema 4D (take an image and its grey scale for the displacement channel and with a simple click generate a colourful landscape sphere from this data.

Pls ask a 3D guy first not to mess up with your own standards.

All that glitters is not gold, particularly in those fashionable logarithmic “designs” that has to be out of the late 1990s actually!

Above all the porn issue is def outdated. Toktoktok, anyone in there?!

BTW: I’ve read an interview with Alessandro Mendini (founder of Studio Alchemia) in current BUILD issue.
And he mentions, that in contrast to all magazines of the 70s and 80s he was chief editor at, he can’t see any contemporary blog or magazine which points or curates into a certain direction.

A designblog or magazine shouldn’t be a vast collection of colourful pix but rather should evoke new trends and tell well researched background storys in all fields of human interaction not merely design.

Obviously this is no fast and efficient way of dealing with the design like most blogs do but it’s definitely a right, sustainable strategy in creating a profound and reliable online institution.

With this rubbish designboom is sadly far away from such a vision.
You are curating, man! And it’s totally ok only to see 2 good design works a week, but those that matter. Go rather for interesting other fields to report about. Let’s make a brave adjustment in what is really relevant to design and this is much more than colourful loud stuff!
